I know exactly what you're talking about now. Mine would do it all the time when I let off the gas or if I just barely touched it. It was that my rear yoke had pulled too far out of the housing and was sitting at somewhat of an angle against the bearings and gears in the aft section. SYE or hack n tap will definitely fix it, but a longer drive shaft should carry you over until you can do either. If you have the front shaft, throw it in the rear and see if the problem persists. Also, prior to doing that, I would disco your rear drive shaft and see if there's excessive play in the yoke when it's sitting right where it would normally.

Sure did, before I did my sye. Like I said, take drive shaft out and check for play in your yoke, and since its already out, throw your front one on there and take it for a drive, see if anything changes

Well that doesn't make sense. Is the drive shaft you got a double cardon or fixed? How long is it, did they properly measure to be sure the right one was being installed? If it's too long, that's just as bad as being too short, especially if you're still running a slip yoke output shaft

So replaced the tcase with a newer one added a hack and tap and guess what. The noise is still there. I'm thinking its trans related. Only thing is the trans shifts fine and the fluid levels right.

Still having this problem. I found out that if i put the tcase in neutral and the trans in drive and rev it the noise comes from the tcase. Any ideas

Sheez! That sucks. Same noise? Did you inspect your old T-case and see what was making IT noisy? If you can't find it in the old one, maybe it was your trany all along and the noise is tricking you.

Like I've been saying, I myself am no expert with TC's...it is going around, would think it could make noise, one that might change in 4WD.
