If jeep wanted to revive the cherokee, they should have come here to us. To those who know what they are meant for, and knows there way under a hood. I want something I can lift, something I can modify to my liking, like the cherokee and earlier wranglers were. Jeep had a niche... and sadly it appears to be dissappearing with the times...

I would bet a big fat Zero. It's probably all Italian designers who don't even understand the concept of off roading. The damn thing is mainly based on an Alfa. But looks like something Kia would build....

Can't believe there are articles supporting the new jeep cherokee and saying there are mixed reviews. If there is someone out there that actually likes this then they dont know what the cherokee was. They really need to slap a liberty tag on it. What happened to the jeep employees who had input on the 2003 rubicon? I would have made them the design team for the new cherokee....not Italian clown car drivers

It's not that I like this thing.

BUT, this is what happens when people screw around and f'up a company that just a few years before were saved by the government and actually brought out some vehicles that had promise (thank you Lee I ) things continue on cruise for a few years. Some thing go..XJ ( I still own one ) and some things come along, ORIGINAL KJ ...( I actually LOVE my 05' Liberty and it is modded up and has NEVER had one failure ) then some dumb a$$ idiot that couldn't run Home Depot is picked to run Chrysler and does nothing but run it into the ground, they join with the German Benz boys who RAPE the bank account give us the COMPASS ( that is WORSE than this new Cherokee IMHO) and leave...where does this get us? F'uk'd pure and simple. What does it get us? Well they don't go completely under and are now owned by the Italian Fiat dudes that seem to want to try with some platform sharing and while trying to make a few $$$. This is an attempt to keep the Pentastar floating.

Until we man up. Do it our way and make our own stuff we will watch others do this type of thing. It's called a Global economy. I would love Warren Buffett to call me with the cash to buy Jeep and take it private. Jeep and H-D should be private owned period. Make them here in the US and sell them EVERYWHERE. Jeep would show all the others their tail-lights going into the forest, desert, rocks, mud where NONE OF THEM CAN REALLY GO.

While I am ranting & dreaming, since MY Jeep is privately owned and I will never take a salary in excess of paying my bills all these FAKERS that drive the brand will be denied ownership. They can go by FJs or whatever else. If you don't use it or at least do your own maint. We will come take OUR JEEP back from YOU.

OK I've held that in a while. Seemed like a good time to get it out. And other than my XJ in my sig I own two Chryslers, the Lib & a Ford. The XJ is my 38th vehicle.

Is this a joke?

Jeep Designers: kindly look at the picture on the left: this is a Jeep Cherokee. This is what we want, and this is all we will buy, period.

We want a bulletproof, straight-6 engine, solid axles front AND rear, a Warner transmission that is equally bulletproof, an NV242 or stronger transfer case, nothing more. Extra points for a real frame and skid plates instead of that unibody crap. Keep the five doors and roof rack as well.

We do NOT want a stupid-looking, smeared-jellybean import with a "green high-tech" 4-banger engine and/or transaxle. Forget about entertainment electronics, leather, glovebox air conditioning, plastic headlights, gee-whiz LED dash displays, wings or fins, useless plastic trim, satellite radio, or any of the assorted garbage designed to lure urban morons who can't seem to get enough "bling in 'da crib."

Stop crapping all over the Jeep Legacy. You will not sell this junk to anyone around here. Do you want to make money and build decent quality 4WD vehicles or not? Stop wasting our time with this nonsense.
