Default 2004 4.0 engine swap

Hello,
I have a 1988 jeep comanche 4.0 with quite the knock... there is a 2004 Tj close by that has a 4.0L engine that has had a small fire i am curious as to what sort of problems with wiring and such will come up if i choose to buy it and swap it in? thanks in advance for the help

Im not too sure about what this swap would entail, but talking from experience on repairing fire damaged farm equipment, if this small fire was anywhere near the engine, i would really consider tearing down the engine and rebuilding it. Fire has a funny way of damaging seals.

There is also a possibility of the motor mounts being different, and a bunch of other stuff. I picked up a '05 engine from a LJ to swap into my '95 XJ. I'm currently doing some research to try and find what needs to be done for the swap. Its not looking to good, unless I want to do alot of custom work.

Besides the block and maybe the head you have to use everything from your jeep. There are maybe 50 to 100 post in the search function on an engine swap you know.
