2001xj rear clunk
hello, I am getting a small clunk in the rear when I hit a bump, I dont see any problems with the springs or shackles, I am thinking of changing the rear shocks with air shocks any opinions?

Do you have a full-sized spare mounted in the cargo area? If so, check that cuz mine will come loose after driving on washboard dirt roads and make a clunk when I hit a bigger bump. It could also be your shock or spring/shackle bushings - if they look dried or cracked it may be just a cheap bushing that needs replaced. Then again it could be the rebound damping on the rear shocks is gone. I just put new bilstien 5100s on mine and they ride excellent!
