I have recently came across a set of black power heated leather seats from a 2001 XJ. I have a 01 classic with cloth manual seats. I have done a little research and there seems to be confusion on whether the wiring harness is already under the carpet or not.
I am basically wanting to know how to get these seats functioning in my jeep. Note all I would have is the seats, no heated seat buttons, etc.

my 01 has the wiring harness in place under the flooring. it was ordered as a sport with the police package and has the manual seats.

What side is the harness located on? Any one have a picture or can show exact location to look for it?

Ok guys last night I felt around under my seats and could not feel a harness under the carpet. Is there a chance that my jeep does not already have the harness?

Yes, there is a chace, but you will need to pull the seat out and take off the sill panel in order to feel under the carpet. It may be tied back with other harnesses that run under there. usually these things won't lay out in plaine sight.

Obviously you'll need the controls for the heated seats too, if you want those to function.

Sutmbled across your thread, and I'll throw my story in. Got a set of front power leather seats from a friend to put in my 99. Everytone told me the wiring was under the seats, and it is, kinda. Its literally just one pigtail under the passenger seat that supplies power to the wiring harness. The harness itself is very hard to find unless you get lucky at a U-Pull JY. As for me, still looking. Found one in a JY in north carolina but the dude wanted $300 for it. I found all the wiring diagrams for the seats and may try rigging it up myself. Also thought about taking it to one of those auto centers that do car stereos/window tinting/power seats and seeing if they can do something with it. Good luck my friend.

Here's the power seat connector (C6) in the JB. Lower right corner. The power wire is Red/Light Blue tracer.

The circuit protection is CB 29 in the JB.

Did you ever locate your missing harness? My buddy is parting a 99 limited and I bet he still has the harness for the power seats. I'm assuming the harness between the floor and seats would be the same between these years. Message me if interested.
