2000 XJ Sport - Need headlight help!
Ok so here's the deal -
This morning I was driving to work, when I experienced only what I could call a "powersurge". The whole dash cluster lit up, gauges went up and down, etc. The jeep never died, but after that couple moments I had lost power to my radio and low beams. I flipped on my high beams (they worked) and continued down the road.
A few miles later, the same thing happened again. This time it took my high beams with it too. So now I have no headlights.
I got to work and looked behind the radio, and it's a mess of spliced wires from a previous owner, so I can only assume that radio loss is from whatever the overall problem is.
My turn signals and brake lightd work, but I have no high/low beams, nor do I have any side lights.
So far I have -
Checked all fuses in cab and under hood (all good)
Checked connector under airbox (good)
Checked grounds I could locate (the ones I found were good).
Replaced the multifunction lever and headlight switch (still no luck).
Is there something I'm missing? Where are some other grounds? What am I doing wrong?
I checked the fuses with a multimeter, but I'm not sure about how to use one to check the voltage or for continuity.
Everything is still running fine, but I can only drive during daylight hours. Any ideas? Help would be much appreciated and I will send primo karma to all those who respond. Thanks everyone!
