2000 xj o2 sensors

2000 xj o2 sensors
Alright so here's my next hurdle
....
I bought a 2000 cherokee with a blown engine...only had two SENSORS in the exhaust...bought another engine, it had 4 sensors, 2 in the manifolds, two in the exhaust....my wireing harness only has the spot for two..in the exhaust...is it possible this was an early production and only came out with two sensors instead of 4??? Has anyone ran into this problem?

It all depends on whether it came with the California emissions package. My 00 XJ came from Washington DC, so it came with the Calif emissions...has 2 pre-cats and then the main cat. So it has 4 sensors. 00 XJ's that didn't have the Cali emissions came with the standard 2 o2 sensors and just the single cat.
