Default 2000 XJ lost brake pressure

Okay so I did front brakes on my jeep with no issues at all. I store on the brakes hard and I feel a burst and lose pressure. Pull off and step on pedal and I see it squirting out of the oil pressure sending unit. Next to the oil filter. So what can cause that and how ****ed am I? Do it just clean the sensor housing and everything and make a good seal? Is that normal? Please help we have snow in the forecast! 😬

I think you need to look elsewhere for your problem. You probably have an engine oil leak from the sending unit and a brake problem somewhere else. There is no part of the brake system that is connected to the engine's oil system.

I'm just at a loss lol. It appears that it's only coming from that exact spot. I know that it doesn't make any sense at all and maybe I'm just being thick, but I swear that's where it's coming from. I'll check again in the AM. There's nothing that could cause fluid to come from that sensor when I press the brake pedal down. Baffled

You need a helper to actuate the brakes while you look at the front passenger brake line, most likely, squirting on your engine block.

How long is your neck that you can step on the brake pedal while looking at the sending unit?

When you find the leaking line, look into replacing it with cupro-nickel line. More rust resistant than stainless steel, and easier to work with than plain steel.
