Hi guys!
Alright so I have a 2000 xj and fuse 22 which goes to both the pcm as well as the fuel pump, my issue is that fuse 22 is drawing 80 mah at all times, the battery will go dead within 3 days, has a new pcm, new alternator, new fuel pump/assembly.
Anyone have an idea? I keep throwing new parts at it and it's not fixed,
It has a stereo in it and had an amp but I had removed it.
So, I'm confused then. Fuse 22 feeds the fuel pump relay and pin 22 on the C1 connector to the PCM, labelled B+. You pulled the relay, and I'm skeptical that the PCM is drawing 800 mA with the ignition off. Unplug the PCM and see what happens?
It still showed a draw, am I looking in the wrong place?
Maybe. According to the schematic, Fuse 22 should be hot. In the image you've posted you've connected to B-. If you were looking at it that way you should have been connecting across Fuse 22.
To be clear, did you check for parasitic draw according to the video? How many mA did you have before/after pulling Fuse 22? Before/after pulling Fuel Pump relay?
Alright so i used the ground cable to test like in the video, it's at 800 mah drops to zero as soon as I pull fuse 22,pulled the fuel relay and no change, still pull in 800 mah
If you wait a minute, does that 800 mA drop back down? Some things like the radio and some computers will draw some current when they're initially connected and then drop back down.
