Post 2000 jeep cherokee stopping noise

first new to the site. first post. come to the site all the time. its great.

okay i have a 2000 Cherokee sport inline 6 4.0 that is having a metallic noise when stopping.. so heres whats happening. when braking everything seems fine when at a normal speed of say 40 mph but when it starts to slow between 20 and 10 i start to get this catching sorta feeling in the brakes that can be felt in the pedal. when coming to a full stop it wants to stick kind of and stops real quick kind of jerky. and when letting off the break i get the noise right as i start when slowly letting off. the noise sounds like medal on medal but i have gone inside and everything looks good around the pads rotors drums etc.

im sure the noise is coming from the front but sometimes it feels like the drums

so replaced the drums and shoes in the back and the pads and rotors in front are still fine. im ready to start taking it apart but would like some help on where to start thanks

first time posting here thanks

if needed i may be able to get some video with the sound in it and can be heard from the cabin pretty well
can defiantly be heard outside (i can tell by everyone who looks at me when i stop)

Get yourself some disk brake paste designed to be applied to the back of the brake pads to keep them from squealing. Check the slides that the front pads rest on for deep wear marks causing the pads to "hang up". If not bad they can be filed smooth or there is a repair kit that supplies a piece that can be clipped over the damaged area.

It sounds like something is binding up. Everything (sliding pins, and whatever the drums in the rear use) were cleaned and re-greased when you did the break work?
I assume it was bled properly as well.

My front right caliper was sticking after I held them at a stoplight, and really grabby in traffic. Cleaned the slider pins and everything was smooth again.

Default Farting Brake Pads? or New Pickup Strategy?

I had the same problem when I replaced my front brake pads and rotors. No performance or safety problems, but I can "creep" the Jeep at a light and get the brakes to "fart". I like the attention, especially when it's a cute girl standing at the corner where I'm stopped.
