had to reset the PCM after replacing engine and a rebuild on the transmission. But now still getting just the punching from the starter not turning the engine. Reaching out to the mines that have different views. Can you help me solve this puzzle?

What does that mean? Are you using a translator?

I assume the starter is just clicking, not cranking.
Has it not started since the engine has been replaced?

As the other guys noted, there's a world of difference between a "click no turning over" vs a "turns over but won't fire up".

I've never heard of a full starter kick but no turning.. that would suggest a severly misinstalled starter or horridly bad flywheel.

If it's clicking and not turning, the first thing I would check would be the battery cables. That crap plagued me when I had a loose terminal clamp on my 00 TJ... I'd wiggle the cable routinely until I fixed it proper... could be loose at either end with a recent starter removal.
