Have my jeep cherokee making bad chirping noise. Replaced the alternator and tenison pulley and is still there. Reving the jeep up it gets really loud and annoying. Put soap on the belt and still wont go away. Please help me!

1. Be sure that the cause is the belt. Noises like that can fool you; be sure that it isn't some other component along the route of the serpentine belt.
2. Inspect belt for glazing. Replace belt if old or glazed. I recommend Goodyear Gatorback for a replacement belt
3. Be sure belt is tensioned properly. KRIKIT II gauge is helpful here. The belt on the 4.0 needs to be darn tight to stay quiet.
4. Do NOT use belt dressing. Bad news for serpentine belts

Could be the water pump bearing or if you have a/c it could be the compressor or clutch...??? Did you replace the serpentine belt...does it have the correct tension???
