2000 Cherokee turn signals/hazards

2000 Cherokee turn signals/hazards
Hi, first post here. My wife has a 2000 Cherokee Sport. The turn signals and hazards have been acting up. Sometimes they flash, sometimes not. Turning the signal stalk off then on again usually fixes that problem. With the hazards, sometimes only the left side will light up, if I move the signal stalk to the right turn position I can get both. Very odd.
This morning I replaced the flasher relay. Things seem to work for now, but I'm not that naive. What would be the next place to look if the problem returns?
