Default 2000 Cherokee Sport 4.0 Automatic Transfer Case Noise in Passenger Compartment

I am a Cherokee newbie with the recent purchase of a 2000 Cherokee Sport, 4.0, automatic, 4X4, 4 door. The XJ has a rattling noise that seems to be coming from under the console or in the general console area. The noise is prevalent at idle and also occurs while driving. I have not been able to pinpoint it to specific accelerator conditions, coasting, park, drive gear, etc. It occurs more often than not. I noticed All Data includes reference to a technical bulletin, 21-008-01, that involves the replacement of the transfer case lever torque shaft and the installation of a sound deadener mastic patch to the inside floor pan. Has anyone done this or have any experience with where the parts can be purchased?

It's not a big deal, but if I could eliminate the rattle I would.

Thanks.
