Can someone tell me what the tube coming off the front axle drive is? it is rubber, has a heat wrap on it, runs up into the engine compartment against the fire wall and is capped. It was rubbing up against the drive shaft and has a hole in it.

 

it sounds like the axle vent line but im not sure.

 

I am going to say that it should be a breather tube... but it shouldn't be capped on the top.. You def. might want to replace that, so that you don't get any fluids or dirt in your axle... You should be able to take a piece of the current hose to any hardware or auto parts store and get some to replace the complete length..

 

Ahhh breather tube. I just went and checked and it does look like a vented cap.I didn't think about the dirt getting into it. Thanks a million!!

 

thats the vent tube for your axle,the cap is a breather cap
