Hello and first complaint. All electrical system turns off during driving once in a while but immediately comes right back on.....Please try to explain that. Next is about 45 to 50 mph I get this strange jump in the gears, changed the transmission oil and filter 2 months ago and still the same issue. Please help. Oh yea its a 98 Cherokee Sport 4.0L

 

Are you talking about everything shutting down or instrument cluster. If you are talking about the cluster only it is a very common problem. The connections become corroded and or loose. You need to pull the cluster and clean all the contact and put some dialectic grease and make sure everything is nice and tight.

 

Electrical meaning lights, radio etc or does the whole truck cut off and then you are able to restart?

 

Actually it doesn't. Truck keeps running. Weirdest thing I have ever seen. It goes out for about 1-2 seconds then its comes back on as if i was cranking it from start.

 

Just the instrument cluster. Cool I'll try that. Thanks a lot.
