2.8L problems

2.8L problems

86 2.8L doesn't have have power, I changed plugs,wires,rotor cap , fuel filter, fuel filter on the inlet of the carb, .... If you floor it, it wants to die out but if you gradually floor it , it doesn't want to die out

Please help!!!

Does it have a "flat spot" when you punch the throttle at hot idle?

Is your vacuum advance on the distributor hooked up/hold suction? Also probably worth checking fuel filters to. There is one in the gas tank and another on the drivers side of carb

Look in the carb and see if you see fuel squirt out as you depress the throttle. The Accelerator pump, provides fuel for that second when you don't have intake vacuum, and their is no airspeed in the venturey to suck fuel into the airstream. It's like "the moving part", and they wear out.
