Default 2.8 to 4.0 engine swap. Problems?

So my 2.8 runs alright right now, but has no power, and I'm always having to fiddle with little things. This summer I want to swap in the 4.0. If I get a donor vehicle for all the parts (engine + tranny + tcase + ?), what kind of problems am I going to run into... I've heard the radiator mount is further forward relative to my 85'. I'm sure there's a lot of issues, but any glaring ones?

the wiring is going to be a problem if you get one with fuel injectors

I'd suggest getting an XJ that already has a 4.0L.

Converting from a 2.8L will require more work and money than your rig is worth.

So do I, unless you want to put a Camaro 3.4L in instead. 165 HP and direct bolt in.

When you say direct bolt in for the 'maro 3.4l, do you mean just the engine... oooo I found a good site with a tech article on this... http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...Project_XJ.htm .... hmmm... that would be a lot easier than swapping everything.

Yes direct bolt in, use the Camaro fly wheel or flex plate and put her in. Wiring is extra. Hook up the exhaust, fuel and electrical and you are good to go.
