2.5 td diesel Jeep Cherokee
I’m looking at buying a 2.5 td diesel Jeep Cherokee sport. It has 150,000 miles. Is this going to be a good purchase or am I gonna sink a **** ton of money in repairs to this thing? I’m in Spain and want to import it back to the states because I’ve never seen this in the states before. I’ve heard the vm engine in it is dog **** though. If anyone has any advice please let me know🫡

That engine has a reputation for head gaskets &, possibly, heads which is inconvenient in Europe but could present real problems back in the USA (I'd give serious thought to throwing a couple of gasket sets in the back before shipping it.
Otherwise, there are no reported major issues. As it's Spain, rust shouldn't be the problem it is in the Rust Belt - or Northern Europe, for that matter.
As for how much you might have to spend on it, well there's the shipping costs & any duty, before you even turn a wheel but, that aside, it has more to do with overall condition, than the VM lump.
