2.5 to 4.0

2.5 to 4.0
So we need to switch out a 2.5 on a 1986 Cherokee. and put in a 92 4.0. What would I need to know before doing this? It also looks like I would need to get new mounts for a radiator welded in or am I mistaken? Will try to get pictures later.

Its gonna be quite a bit of work. One the engine mounts need to change position I believe or atleast on a YJ they do. The trans will need to be swapped aswell. Also the engine bay for the 2.5 is smaller than the 4.0 depending on your year. The older 2.5s and 2.8 have a smaller engine bay and the firewall will need "massaging" to make the 4.0 fit. The rest is a pretty straight swap though. I looked at the swap on my YJ when I had it and it was a viable option.
