1999 XJ Classic - knocking noise & slow initial acceleration
Hi all:
I've just purchased my second XJ after my wife gracefully cracked up my first one that was written off.
My second one is a beauty, with 120k miles and Plymouth Prowler purple (for those who remember than one), it's definitely a charmer.
However, I've noticed two issues. First being that there is a loud knocking noise coming from under the vehicle in the trunk area when going over mild paved road bumps. I've just had all shocks changes and my mechanic said he could not see anything, but something's got to be wrong.
Secondly, I've noticed that upon start-up, the initial acceleration is a bit sluggish for the first couple of seconds and then it's fine. I didn't have this problem in my 1997 XJ. Plugs, wires are relatively new. Any thoughts at to why?
Thanks for your help!
