Well it wasn't my CPS either... So now I am going to start with extending the VSS. It is super tight, from what I have read it is shorter on the 2wd cars, it was tight as a guitar string when I finally got it to fit.

Try disconnecting the TCM.

Disconnect and then crank or disconnect and plug back in?

Leave disconnected. A bad something could generate the no bus, but a no something should bypass the problem.

She is starting now!
VSS connector had bare wires about 6 inches inside the protective plastic harness thing.
Last night, I said **** it and dug into the harness and once I separated the wires it started.
I went and cut out the old connector, bought one from a local Advance Auto and used the pig tail off the connector to extend the harness.
I soldered it all together, got all the old dry rotted insulation out of the way and taped everything very well.
Plugged it in and now I have no more "no bus" error, and it cranks every time.
