Should fit. Same bolt pattern. As long as they're not HUGE tires

I put '01 explorer wheels on my '96 (for my snow tires). The hub hole in the center was a bit too small, had to file it out (easy enough with aluminum rims). The XJ hub does not stick out very far, the ford rim had big chamfer, this would be easy to miss, possibly resulting in wheel mounting cocked, or nuts coming loose, or wheel failure. Make sure the wheel seats all the way flat, not hung up on the hub.
The benefit of the ford wheels is the reduced backspacing, allowing bigger tires without rubbing on the lower control arms at high steering angles.
