Hello, I am new here and i was hoping you guys would be able to help us out.

My buddy has a 1999 Chereokee Classic.

He was driving around with his gas light on one evening and then parked it in front of his house that night. Went to start it the next morning but it would not start. He figured it was just out of gas so he puts in a jerry can full and it still wont start.

The engine just turns over but wont start. He also cant hear any fuel pump noise ( if you should be able too?) as the engine cranks over.

Where would be a good place to start with the process of elemination for finding out where the exact problem is.

Any imput would be helpful. Thanks everyone.

 

spray some starting flud into the air intake to find out if it is a fuel or spark problem, if it starts up right away it is not getting fuel

did he park on uneven groud by any chance try parking on the level(or pushing) there could just be low fuel
