My jeep is intermittently check gauge light comes on and it shows it not charging, I had it tested twice at different autozones and they say it has a bad voltage regulator. On my 1998 is it located in PCM or internal in alternator ?
Any help would be appreciated

Before you spend money on a new PCM, try cleaning up your battery cables. All of them, both ends.
The PCM grounds to the same plate as the main battery ground to the block, just forward of and below the distributor.
Bad grounds can do lots of strange things. It's just good maintenance anyway, and it might cure your problem.
If it doesn't, well, it didn't cost much.
