Hello all.

I learned to use the search function and I had come across this thread.

..and If i'm reading it correctly tell me this.

I went to Best Buy and used their computer to tell me what my door speaker size was and it said 5 1/4 OR 6 1/2. So i bought the 5 1/4 cos that seems to be what was in their before.

Now that i got them hooked up my problem is that the mounting holes of the new speaker (pioneer tsg1342r - cheap steal from Circuit city.) Do not line up with the factory screw holes.

Do i need to do something special to get them to fit ?? Should I take them back and get the 6 1/2 - for what I read seems like their is no problem lining up the hole on the 6 1/2 with the orig factory holes.

Anyone with advice or insight that could help - I would apperciate it.

I have a 1998 cherokee classic. 4 Speakers....Looks like 5 1/4 in the back

you got a pic of them not lining up? it may not be the size thats the problem

self tapping screws are your freind

where i look these up it says your cherokee has 6.5 not 5 1/4

its 6.5" speakers in the doors, and the headliner speakers are 5.25, and self tapping screws will work fine to install those 5.25's in the doors
