Default 1996 XJ runs better when TPS is disconnected!

Hi all, I've been having an idling issue with my 1996 Cherokee. It idles rough and hesitates upon acceleration. I've changed everything in the throttle body, took it off, cleaned it and changed the wires plugs, coil ect.
it seems to run really well when I disconnect the TPS! I have no idea why. Can anyone PLEASE help?

Question

I have the same problem too. I have clean TB, change Camshaft Position Sensor, clean distributor and spark plug. It idle smooth, but when accelerating or half open throttle its hesitate or choke up. When put in idle again, it's smooth again.
The problem not show when TPS disconnected (but check engine light on, off course). Any Idea?

Default Found the problem!

The problem was the TPS sensor!
it was the last thing that I thought of because I put a new one in a year ago, but the guys at O'Reilly said that those TPS sensors are very sensitive to moisture. So I bought a new one, put it in and problem resolved

What wiring exactly? What did you do to fix it? I’m having the exact same symptoms.

What year? And what have you tried so far to fix it?

I also believe Cruiser recommends to make sure you get a Mopar TPS or maybe at least a NAPA because the after market ones are very hit or miss. I'd have to double check but it's too late.
