Do you have to send the old one back? It's often (usually?) quite easy to repair them. Pop the cover and look for broken solder joints, especially where the 3 connectors come in. Inspect the capacitors to see if any are swollen or burst. Check their rating. I've got a bagful of 220µF 35V capacitors (you probably have 25V but these are better). LMK if you need a few they're just collecting dust over here.

A refurbed PCM solved the problem. What a pain but at least it's back on the road. Thanks to all who contributed.
