I have read the posts, etc. and followed (I think) most all of the links folks have typed. Most seem to be dead ends. The dealer doesn't have it, no auto stores have it within 200 miles of home. The junkyards are stripped clean or damaged. If I have to have it rebuilt I will, but it's $150 plus parts and the hassle of dropping the tank twice and fitting it with a temp fuel pump (It's a daily driver)

Does anyone have a valid link or place that would have this part, new or rebuilt?

I don't think that part is available anymore. It's pretty easy to repair though, just an open wirewound resistor and a movable wiper attached to a float.
'96 you should have the front-mount pump still? If so, no need to drop the tank.

 

i was thinking the same thing when i realized my guage doesnt seem to read correctly.. im on empty burning only 14 gallons... 20 gallon tank.. doesnt add up

 

96's fuel pumps aren't compatible with other years. That's why it's hard to find.

 

I've got a 96 2 door and I think 96 is the best year besides the year specific parts

 

Oh I like it and all,....in fact I want to find a rebuildable 4.0 to have ready when the time comes. Get my son interested and have ownership in it. I almost feel led to figuring out a DIY solution and marketing it. (To the sending unit issue)
