Default 1995 Jeep Cherokee interior fuse box

The fuse box located under driver's side dash.
Is the power going to this fuse box protected by a main fuse?

On this fuse panel there are a few single ports marked battery. There is power to these ports even when the ignition is off.
Are these ports protected by a fuse?

I am installing a brake controller for my tow trailer and I would like to access the power from this fuse panel

They should be thru a fuseable link. Safest way is to in line fuse everything. Better safe then charred xj.

Go to your PDC and pull fuse marked Fuse Block (See PDC lid) and check for power at those ports.

Absolutely yes! Even if those ports are protected by a larger fuse upstream, it's a bad idea to depend on that fuse for protection. You might be running 18 gauge wire to a light load, and that fuse might be 60 or 80 amps.

(That would be A Bad Thing.)

You must size the fuse to the circuit. It's not enough just to have some unknown fuse somewhere.

Yes, I have one, and I will gladly share it with you.
