Hi, I'm new to the forum, i have a 1995 GC laredo, straight 6. I experienced the dreaded constant tone from my red box, key in, key out, ign on, or off. I took the advice of another thread and removed it, now i want to replace it. I just can't justify the 100.00 + for this if the only thing thats going to be affected is the seatbelt tone, and the inability to use the power locks, and a couple of other tones for doors ajar, etc... Is there any other functions that removing this would disable ? And is there any other years of GC's that are the same box ? I have a boneyard in my area that has oodles of jeeps, and was thinking i could save a bundle if i just got a used one. Any help would be appreciated.
