1991 to 1994 speed sensor wiring

1991 to 1994 speed sensor wiring
As I make the change from 3.07 diffs to 3.55's, I need to change my speedo driven gear so I can have a correct reading driving down the road.
I've managed to find lots of newer (93 up) speed sensors with the shorter gears in my wrecking yards with the correct amount of teeth, just having no luck finding the correct one for my 91.
My question is: can the newer sensor and gear combo work in my 91 transfer case and what do I have to do to wire it in? I've noticed that my 91 is only 2 wires, compared with 3 for the newer ones.
If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
