1990cherokee clunks real bad
well i just got a 1990 cherokee its auto when you start it it sounds like a rod knock but coming out of the tranny but when you start moving sometimes yo have too put it into 1st to move but sometims you dont i just wanna know what to replace thanks

Unfortunately, your best bet may be to take it to a shop to get it diagnosed. Sounds like a trans problem, but impossible to tell. Can you rev your engine without noise. Also is this a 4.0 or 2.5?
