1990 Jeep chrerokee problem with 4wd locker
im having problems with my 4wd the vacumm engager will not let the 4wd engage. any tips?!

my 88 xj had vac disc. i changed it....my 94 yj had it. Try searching the cable, i cant remember the name but i used one on another jeep and it worked good, plus you can have 2 low for creeping if you dont lock the front

I've heard of a mod too, where you simply ditch the whole troublesome vacuum system and lock the shift fork in the engaged position to make it just like a non CAD dana 30. If you interested a quick google search should bring a writeup or two.

if you are handy just cut open the vac unit on the housing and go to you local truck/equiptment store and buy a pto cable (a choke cable isn't strong enough) and i just drilled a hole through where the vac diaphagm was attached and presto cost me like $25 bucks (this was done to a yj) my XJ has the solid right axle
