1990 Jeep Cherokee Laredo High Revs Help.
Hey guys this is my first time on here and I'm just wondering if anybody has ever had to deal with a cherokee that wants to over rev. What I mean is my 90 Jeep Cherokee Laredo wants to rev up to 30k rpm in neutral and in drive will accelerate to 40 mph without me touching the gas pedal. If any of you guys have ever experienced this problem and was able to fix it please let me know.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris and Welcome to the Forum.
When I first got my 1990, when I first started it up it would be OK then slowly increase to about 1500 rpm. Turned out the intake manifold bolts were loose.
Another possibility is a bad TPS (throttle position sensor).
If you haven't found Cruisers Tips yet, here's the link. LOTS of good info there.
