Default 1989 Jeep is pxxxin me off!!!!!!

Ok, new cps, new alternator, new coil, checked all power coming outta every wire, seems to check out correct. It looks to have had a ecu installed in it fairly recently along with the cps updated wiring harness. It cranks over just fine, just no spark. Can the cradle that the coil sits in give me these issues. Please help, just about ready to roll it off a cliff and never look back.

Have you checked the ground to the ignition coil?

What do you mean by CPS harness update?

sounds like your on the right path... w/o spark? it start at the plugs.. check the coil, than if the coil isnt putting out enough its probably a bad ground

Roll it off a cliff in my direction. Renix would be easy to trace. What kind of numers are you getting on the CPS?

my 89 has been getting this problem once in awhile... i think its due to the distributer rotor and over corrosion on the connections. when i bought mine there was a old rotor in the middle console and one time when mine didn;t start i opened up the distributer steel wooled the connections and bammo it started just fine... not sure if this is what you got but with not spark this was my problem

Renix ECU rarely go bad. I have read of 1 or 2 but never seen one go bad myself and I have seen dozens that tested good that were discarded.
