Seems that this Saturday is the local pick-n-pulls fall "harvest" day. All cartloads are only $40 no matter what and waiving the $2 admission.

Anywho, I grabbed the front highback seats from an '89 XJ to replace my completely rusted out lowbacks. I was wondering if the guages will work. I like the cleaner look of the 89 guages vs my 84s. But the 89 has the 4.0 and I have an '84 2.5. Would it just plug in or am I hosed. On the 89 cluster it has the tach in place of my gas guage. My 84 has oil pressure, temp and charge. Same as the 89s but in different places.

Is there a way to get the tach to work from the 6 banger to my 4 and would the other stuff work?

Plus I will be going from 140K miles on my 84 to 141K miles if I swap in the 89. Close enough for me. All others were topping 200K out there today.

Don't think they will work. The actual guage pod will fit but the signals from a V6 and those fron the 4.0L are different I think. I don't know much about your 84 but I am pretty sure the signals are not the same. Sorry, hope I'm wrong. But it if it is cheap and try it. You may need the senders to have any hope of it working.
