01 XJ Sport (4d) Molding
Trying to keep my wife's baby looking original - she really likes the look of the door molding, but pieces are bowing, and we just lost one of the fender pieces. Two questions: is there any way to straighten out the bowed pieces? (remove & replace, obviously) and are there any suppliers in oddball corners of the 'net who might have replacements or NOS?
I've tried local (San Antonio) pick-n-pulls, but there's only one possible donor within 50 miles - checking it tomorrow. My Google skills aren't great, and eBay is not among my favorite places, so any help or advice would be really welcome.
Thanks.

Ugh, been there done that with the bowing trim strips. I pulled mine off last summer and left them in the hot sun with small weights tied to the ends in hopes of straightening them, but it didn't last. I tried a heat gun as well. No dice. Unfortunately, they won't fit in the oven.
I think you have to try and "re-glue" them by squeezing it in down a nozzle and load up the kinked bits with something very heavy (Gym weights on a bar for example)
This is not an ideal solution, but it beats the heck out of trying to get replacements if they drop off

Depends.
Using the 3M VHB double sided tape could help.
This stuff is no joke.
The regular stuff you get on the small roll at the auto parts store is laughable compared to the VHB.
Expensive though.
And if they are too curved even that stuff my not help.
