That's ugly.
That's not the valve cover that's my oil filter seal blowing out

Wow, WTF...just watched that video

Noisy as hell, and the Old Faithful oils gush at the end...I dunno man.

So, is that with the adapter still on, or off with the filter on the block?

What did the adapter look like when you pulled it? Any cracks/breaks?

Block not cracked where it mounts?

That noise is awful. Wondering how long it ran like that, and if it was slow coming on and got worse suddenly. I'm guessing you were losing oil, not enough to notice at first, the damage was done, and here you are...

Have you done a compression test yet? Checked the oil for chunks or flakes?

By the noise, I'm wanting to say collapsed lifter. But that doesn't explain the oil blowing out everywhere.

That video is with the adapter still on since I've removed it I haven't had any issues with it blowing out but it still has the noise . I didn't notice any cracks. When it would happen the oil filter seal would be pushed to the outside. I had no problems with it before I parked it went out the next day to start it and all of this was going on

How about the compression test?

Since the noise and pressure problems came on suddenly, I'm wondering if some chunk of sludge has broken loose and is clogging an oil passage.

You might want to pick up a mechanic's stethoscope and do some listening to see if you can narrow down the noise.

I'm wondering if it's bypass valve related but I'd think a new filter would've fixed the leak.

Initially, the by pass valve in the filter maybe let oil through at too high a pressure (and it should've been in by pass mode but wasn't) and that burst the seal.

The Microguard filter is a low line Wix, same as Supertech and Napa Proselect. STP, if it was the basic one would be an ecore design which is kind of shoddy.

What do you think about that noise though, Mark? Would a clogged oil passage make that sound? (not being a skeptic, just asking for the sake of learning).

Not sure. I was thinking that a clogged oil passage would cause damage to a lot of downstream components, which could make a lot of noise. For example, plug a main passage that feeds all the lifters, and......

I think that's a little drastic. Removing the valve cover at this point, letting the motor run and observing would be a better step before dismantling the motor for something that could be something simple.

Agreed. Small steps until more is known.

I did remove the valve cover there was nothing noticeably wrong but I didn't pay enough attention on the oiling because of the oil filter SEAL issue I had to shut it off quick . I do know it's puddling up while running with the valve cover off where I can see through the filler cap but it will need to come back off to be sure.

Yeah pull it back off again. Inspect the valves for any signs of damage... shouldn't be any from above, but just check in case. Start up the motor and watch the valves closely, might have to hunch down and look at them somewhat parallel to the ground. If any of them seem like they're not opening as high as the others, it may be a lifter issue or possibly a bent valve.

I'll pull it back off to check the valves. I know there was not any notice able damage and all the rockers were tight but I'll look to see if they are all opening. I'll post a video of it. But it may be 2-3 days before I can.

Sounds like the oil pressure relief valve in the oil pump has gotten stuck. Its sending full pressure to the filter causing it to burst. Not a common problem with the 4.0. The noisey lifters are caused by lack of oil to the lifters. Run the engine the absolute least possible, oil is probably not getting anywhere else. Running it will eventually cause it to self destruct as the relief valve may be causing full bypass not sending oil anywhere.
