I can understand the reasoning and logic behind the concept but I also realize you can't take a site that has always counted them and then switch it all of a sudden. If the site had done that from the very beginning that would have been great.

Now there is a major flaw in associating knowledge with post count. There are several around here with low post counts that are very knowledgeable and likely won't have a large post count. If it was me I would look at the content of their posts and how long they have been on the site way before I ever gave a flip about how many posts they have. All post count means is you spend way to much time on the internet.

Basically all I am saying is that change isn't going to happen. It's a logistical mess I don't plan on dealing with anytime soon. If I made that change then I'd have folks asking why they post and their post count isn't going up. I mean many have a hard enough time just posting in the proper areas.

 

Speaking of talking out your butt.... I read the ONLY thread she has started on this site before I made this comment, and all it mentions that she knows about jeeps is how it handles parking lot donuts.

I'm not trying to step on toes this early in my tenure, but you guys defending her are missing a point. You are pointing out that someone should determine value of opinion by reading the content of someones' posts. This is how I discovered where most of her posts were. All I was doing was helping the OP argue his point.

I think the forums would be a better place if you COULD use a simple post count as a tool, and not have to research someones' posts to determine if they are full of doo or not.

 

Let's get something straight right now. Bashing another member of this site is not tolerated. Not everyone get's on here to be the tech guru. Some get on here simply to chat with like minded folks. They don't get on here for idiots to bash them because they only post in off topic. So before you start talking out your butt I'd strongly suggest you stop right where you are before you dig your hole to deep. You haven't been around to long so I'll chalk it up as a newb making a mistake. Let's hope it ends here.

OK, let's think about this for a minute guys. Look at the join date too. All it takes is a little math to see someone that joins in Jan 2010, and has over 700 posts is up to more than just tech! As I said before, for tech realated issues, quality over quantity. It doesn't take me too long to figure out who's who around here. I think that if I can figure that out, anyone can!! LOL!! The big thing to remember is this is a social community, that shares an admiration for the Jeep SUV vehicles. Much like any other community, you may have only one shared interest with your neighbors. Basically, if you are going through the trouble of researching information on a public forum, spend a couple of minutes, and research the source too, if it seems umfamiliar to you.

 

Goneracin, bashing a woman is a cowardly thing to do. We want them to increase not to be scared away. She and her boyfriend are such good guys, your lack of gallantry is a shame.

 

Two of you mentioned bashing. Which part was bashing? I didn't say that was all she knew about jeeps, I was just countering his argument that she "probably knows more about them than I do."

The only fact of pointing out on her, when she has never said she was any jeep expert or other sort of technical skill, hurting her feelings up to a point she told us she will stop posting because of the complains, when the only thing she has done is being nice and amusing all the time, well english is not my first language so i don't know if bashing is the right term to define this, find you a correct term for it.
Another thing: 700 posts require also A LOT of reading , she has learned about jeeps in the off topic section more than in her entire life, talking with us.
Now i don't want you to think i am telling you this to stay with the others, i personally am a CF user that is not very loved on here, ask the mods, but this time i must say you were wrong, pick another person for your perfect example, someone that can stand up with your accusations, pick me. Leave the girls alone.
