My girlfriends dad took a couple days off of work so we decided to do some camping and wheeling in the Gunnison Crested Butte area. A forest road through Altmont on 135 takes you into a canyon then through to taylor resovoir whre we found backroads to Union Park.
It was me in my XJ, my buddy Andy who rode with me, and my girlfriend and her dad with their Dodge Ram.
getting ready

The ride to Gunnison

Mt Princeton: PLEASE find a more beautiful mountain. i dare you

Wheres the camp pics?!
I'll be at Taylor Lake Res this coming Sept on my way back from Utah. Found a nice dispersed site near the established Dinner Station camp when i last visited in 98.. great view of the Collegiate range.
Did you run any of the local trails?

i have about 80 more pictures of the trip. dont wanna do it all in one sitting
No we couldnt do any local stuff such as taylor pass/pearl/schofield. but alot of the random trails we camped next to were insane gorgeous and just hard enough to make it extremely fun. I have no idea how a truck made it through half the stuff.
Cottonwood pass on the way gave us the greatest views of the collegiates

lolz, there was a little, just way up high. Not where we were at or where we wheeled. I must admit, you were right when you said that plans would change, but its not a big deal, still got alot of awesome wheeling out. i have like 50 more pics to get on here!!
