The Rock Frogs ran Chinamans Gulch in Colorado last weekend and here's some pics
I was the only Cherokee in the group
I also made some cheesy videos with a parody of the show "Everest Beyond the Limits" as the theme. There's a few near flops shown in the videos

Thanks!!
It does better on some obstacles then shorter wheelbase rigs, but sometimes gets hung up where they don't.
The full width 9" Ford and custom width HP44 diff's give it alot more stability then stock axles, it has Detroits front and rear and 5.13 gears.
The crawl ratio is not that great, I could really use a lower transfer case, I use the clutch pretty hard sometimes with the stock case. I hope to do something about that in the future.

That kinda sucks to hear about the crawl ratio. I'm planning on running 35's on 4.88's this spring. I may do a doubler in the future and stretch the rear some but that will be a while. I saw a couple more videos from spring creek whith your xj in them. Looks like you travel with a pretty hard core group!

It would be fine if it were an automatic, but with a manual it can be pretty scary sometimes, I'm not always able to keep the vehicle moving as smoothly as I want, like if I'm in a real steep spot or near tip over and I'm having to fight the clutch to keep from stalling.
I'm thinking doubler too! Like this one I saw on Pirate.

Thanks now i'm stuck over at Pirate reading all I can about the 2 different kits. Were you thinking 231-231 or 231-300? I've wanted a 231-231 setup for a while because 300 seem kinda hard to find around here. Deffinately on my list for this next year or so! Appricieate the link!

Are you going to stretch your wheelbase? I haven't found the exact measurement for a 231-231 on there yet but I know if you flip your leaf springs 180* then you gain like 3-5 inches of wheelbase or something like that. I wonder if it would be enough?

Not planning on stretching it any more, the front axle is about an inch forward. I think the rear driveshaft will still be long enough to not bind, and I really prefer to keep the wheelbase where it is, mainly to keep the belly away from high rocks. I already hit in some spots where the TJ's don't.
But a second crossmember with that longer case would be a real good idea I think.
