Hello. I am in Baltimore, Maryland and am starting to consider swapping out my engine as it's starting smoking a bit and I don't want to rebuild it or buy a full priced reman. I wonder if anyone within a reasonable driving distance has a used engine that they KNOW runs good with no problems. I have been keeping my eye out at the junkyards hoping to find a newer model XJ that was in a side or rear impact wreck and written off by the insurance company but that's still a crap-shoot and removing an engine in the junkyard with hand tools in this heat is something I'll pay an extra couple of hundred dollars to avoid doing if possible.

 

I live in nj and I have a 4.0 from a 92 with only 65k original mikes on it
