I have several sets of 6 #280155703 Fuel Injectors from various Dodge/Chrysler vehicles for sale.. Nice easy "upgrade" for pre-99 Cherokees. I tested them all with an ohm meter and they all are at the correct reading (approx: 12.5 ohms) and I have cleaned them up a bit to remove surface grease. What is the purpose of the swap & is it hard to do? Any other hardware required (besides tools)? I might get a set.

 

The idea of the upgrade is that the 4 hole 703 injectors (And others) give better performance because the gas in more vaporized and thus you get quicker throttle response and acceleration, smoother idle and a slight increase in gas milage. It`s a pretty straight forward swap and requires minimal hand tools.

 

PS: One last thing. I have tested all these injectors and have assembled them into groups of "matched" omh readings (i.e. all those which tested 12.4 I made into a group, 12.6 another etc.) I don't know if this matters with injectors but I know when they build linear amplifiers getting sets of "matched transistors" is always preferred.

 

Did you clean these yet besides cosmetically? Like soak them?

 

Mostly cosmetic to clean surface grease and dirt. I did blast out the ends of each of them with injector cleaner but not soak them. Although I could if it helps encourage someone to buy.

 

Is this pre 99 only? or 99 and pre?

 

I believe also 99 but I'll need to check tomorrow unless someone else knows right off

The 99' and up have a different electrical plug. I believe there is a version of this injector with the newer plug. I'll check for some next trip to the yard and let you know.
