So after a few long months, I finally finished my XJ. I upgraded the Ignition system, cooling system and charging system. All performance parts. Its an 89 sport, two door 5 spd 4.0 with 145 k on the clock. I decked it out trying to keep it reasonable as a daily driver and effective as a trail rig. I put a modest pro comp lift on it. And a ton of other goodies.
sadly, I don't use it like I intended to when I bought it. More often I find myself wishing I had a pickup for this or that.
So I put it up for sale on craigslist in Los Angeles. Mostly trying to get someone to trade me for a pickup. Looking for a full size American pickup, 4x4 extended cab.
I realize not many of you are close to me so I'm not really expecting much as far as offers but I would like to know what some of you think as far as my proposal. I have it posted for 4 grand but I'd really rather get a trade.
Thanks

Id say 3 to 4 But I can't see the pictures to good with my phone. Probably would do better on a trade. Good luck.
I'm from Cali and search for cherokees often..I'll buy them keep what I want or need and junk or sell the rest. I saw yours posted earlier tonight..I'm from the high desert lol.
I don't want to hurt any feelings so please understand. The moddest list looks to be a 2"? and what size tires?
Also puegeut or ax15?
You wanna sell her for more, grab some simple green & that purple power degreaser from autozone..clean the engine bay throughly! Go to a drive in car wash and pressure wash the underside..only cost a few quarters lol.
Also if you can remove your seats, its 4 bolts each on the front..take the covers off them and toss them in the washer..get them clean..reinstall! Makes it look and smell clean! Do the same for the rear and while they are out, vaccum and try to get some stains off the carpet if there is any!
Try to clean up any wiring that isn't stock..even take a few small strips of painters tape and label what wires are for what so the new onwer doesn't mess stuff up!
Those few things will cost you like 50 bucks..a few runs of the washer, few quarters to pressure wash the underside, 10 bucks for degreaser! They will take a few hours..probably 1 day honestly, but will give you a better selling point, and make it worth alot more to someone else!
My first jeep I looked at, engine bay looked shotty, trans and transfer were filty..made me thing it wasn't taken care of mechanically and that was a turn down. Passed on that jeep and it only had 139k on it, guy wanted 1000 obo. I bought one that had 242k which turned out to be more than I bargained for but still..I payed 1600 for my 88 with 242k, stock with 235's cause it looked cleaner & better taken care of. Turns out it wasn't lol but thats another story.
My honest opinion, after seeing alot of built cherokees sell in our area, is roughly 2500-2750 tops! I wouldn't pay more than 1800 for it no matter what..1800 would be my top dollar but I think you could get 2500-2700.
Clean up the vaccum lines it you can, if you have a c101 sensor, clean it out..make it look better. The better it looks the more you'll get!
Also does this have A/c thats working? Does it have cruise control? If so and they don't work..hunt down your vaccum bottle and replace the 3 or 4 vaccum lines..it should only cost 5 bucks and will make the heat & air blow through the vents vs the defroster. It'll make the cruise control work if the unit isn't busted! Its a negative if your air only blows through the defroster when a buyer trys it lol. Just 1 more cheap quick fix that'll help it sell!
Just friendly advice!
And remember to play your selling points..have receipts. Tell em whats been done, and how low the mileage is for the year..Show them how clean the motor is after you degrease and clean up any loose ends! If its got the ax15 then sell that..cause when ever I saw a peugeot I walked away instantly lol...well then I bought my jeep with a puegeot and it puked its guts 24 hours after I bought it lol.

It's an ax15. 2in lift.
I really appreciate your honesty. That's why I asked here. I didn't figure I would have much luck selling it, not here anyway. And this area is flooded with Cherokees, from beaters and projects to high dollar crawlers, so since I fall somewhere in between it's tough to get a fair price. So I think trading is Gonna be what I hold out for. Thanks for the advice.
