What make its not street legal?

 

That depends on your location...some say it's not legal to have tires sticking out past 2" from the fenders - TJ flares will fix that

Others state that beadlocks aren't legal as well...but VA doesn't have a law on those

For SAFETY I would install a front sway bar on it since I threw that out a looooong time ago

i like your jeep.I have a 97 grandcherokee laredo. I would like to add a small lift and put some bigger tires on it. I have to use it to travel so i cant go extreme. I have looked on ebay and jc whitney at lift kits. I just can,t figure out which one is best for me. I need tires and shocks as well. Anyone got any advice? I'm also on a budget so I have to stay under 2 or 3 inches to keep it cheap. Does that tornado you can buy from jc whitney really help? (intake). I can't post a new thread sorry for jumping on your thread.
