I have a 96 Cherokee up for sale need to get some bills paid , it's an old forest service rig and still has the forest service paint. It has 192,200 miles on the original I6 engine. Runs like a champ, recent tuneup.

The bad
the previous owner removed the front bumper ($65 from http://www.rockauto.com)
the blower motor is going out and will need to be replaced (around $30 at napa)
muffler has a hole (should be around a $100 at muffler bandit)
the drivers side headlight door is missing ($5 from http://www.rockauto.com)

Hrmm. Any reason to think it wouldn't make the drive to Texas? This is very tempting....

 

No, probably needs an oil change before a drive that far though.

Forgot to add that it has
factory skid plates
extended idle
tow hooks (one is missing but the mounting bracket is there)

And I've already replaced the rusted out floor boards on the driver and passenger sides. I have before and after pics if needed.

I wasn't planning on selling this but I can't afford to build two rigs up.

No rust anymore, had some rust on the floor boards but I took care of that **** as soon as I noticed it. It's rust free now.

Good luck finding a usfs xj without any rust, they don't exist!

Did a little more cutting before patching. Used stainless steel rivets, automotive seam sealer, and rustoleum primer.
