1/4" wheel spacers

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I've had a set of 1/4 spacers for mine for a year now. Never installed them. #1 there weren't enough threads for the lug to catch on (yes I have alloy wheels) and #2, i asked the same question in someones thread about these and if they were safe. I got so many answers saying no and that they are completely unsafe. The bolt on ones are apparently better because something actually secures them solidly to the drum surface. The 1/4 inch spacer just sit back there loose and rely on the lug nut torque to hold them on along with the wheels. Lug nuts tend to need a retorque time to time on our applications with wheeling ect... Makes it alot easier for them to come loose with those spacers underneath. Most guys I've seen who still want to run spacers go with the Spydertracs bolt ons.
