And it works twice as good as it looks.:head::head:

Im wondering how these work with a moderate lift? Im plannin on stick with about 3" for a while. Long arms prolly arent even needed too much at that stage, but with the addition of the transfer case skid and the price its seems worth it over control arms and the skid separate.

SeriousOffroad 05-26-2011 11:29 AM

Minimum lift height is 4".

Damn!

You'll kick yourself in the pants for doing a 3" lift. I swear. Then you'll want to go 4. Then 5. And well. You'll end up like alot of us. Spent too much money on life kits, when we could have bought once. Put that extra money into steering parts.
Start with 4.5" lift. It's way easier to go up a inch from there. And long arms are worth the coin.

Grolla42 05-28-2011 10:57 AM

Yay! Just what the doctor ordered!

I dunno how you did a 3" lift but Im doin a budget boost. $300 for springs and shocks and maybe add a track bar if theres bad bump steer

SeriousOffroad 05-31-2011 07:08 AM

Still rockin' short arms?!?!!:icon_eek:

Well wright now the front just has the spacer and bout 1.5", still gotta get front springs. Then I need a SLE so i can put the spacer back in and have 4.5"

SeriousOffroad 05-31-2011 09:11 AM

That wasn't directed soley at you, it was a bump for my thread....

outkast 06-01-2011 01:21 AM

Someone needs to think of us LCG guys in a long arm kit. At 4.5" now and thinking of dropping down to 3" or maybe 2.5".

I can assume I could run your long arms and it will just stretch my wheelbase out right? Or is there not enough adjustment to get caster set with that low of a ride height?

SeriousOffroad 06-01-2011 06:58 AM

Correct on both counts.

TNT Customs has a kit for you LCG guys. Pricey and requires copious amounts of cutting and welding to make it work. IIRC, you can run a 35" tire with their LCG kit.

SeriousOffroad 06-02-2011 06:18 PM

Still building 'em.

Do you're homework before buying some other kit based on price alone.

You're smarter than that.

Unleashed 06-02-2011 06:26 PM

doesnt make a difference if its a 4.5 or 6.5 lift?

SeriousOffroad 06-02-2011 06:29 PM

No. My kit is good for 4" to 7.5" of lift over stock height.

Unleashed 06-02-2011 06:32 PM

i have a 4.5in rough country setup and want to upgrade to a 6.5in long arm. for the back i could add the shackle but how would it work for the front? coils and shocks? or?

and ive heard about the yoke eliminator also

SeriousOffroad 06-02-2011 06:37 PM

Add a set of JKS ACOS up front or a set of 2" poly Coil Spacers.

Unleashed 06-02-2011 06:41 PM

does the 4.5in lift and 6.5in lift have the same amount of travel through the front shocks?

SeriousOffroad 06-02-2011 07:46 PM

Oooooh no.

A two inch ride height increase will definitely need a longer shock.

Hoooper 06-02-2011 11:18 PM

I'm thinking he means the actual travel of the shock? ie: 4" up and 6" down for each (or whatever it happens to be)

SeriousOffroad 06-02-2011 11:21 PM

A taller lift will require a shock with more overall travel. A shock for a 4.5" lift will act as a limiting strap on a 6.5" lift.

dirtmod0 06-03-2011 06:00 AM

I am assuming this wont fit a Grand. also i like your pre runner winch bumper any thing for a Grand Cherokee

SeriousOffroad 06-03-2011 06:48 AM

XJ only.
No GC bumpers yet, sorry.

builtnotbought89' 06-03-2011 06:56 AM

boooo

SeriousOffroad 06-11-2011 01:46 PM

Why throw more money at your short arm lift with no improvement in ride quality or articulation?

Make the jump to Serious LongArms FTW!!

*Jonathan 06-11-2011 11:44 PM

Interested... how do these install? Just bolt on or welding also?

SeriousOffroad 06-11-2011 11:55 PM

No welding required. A simple bolt on that anyone can do with standard hand tools and a drill.

You will need a handheld grinder or sawzall to remove the lower control arm brackets.

SeriousOffroad 06-12-2011 01:22 PM

No cheap joints here...
