I would think the force would be away from the glass, the bracket which retains the light is inboard of the pillar......obviously your light would be in jepardy...........if you're that far into a tree, you're heading for problems with or without the pillar bracket.

I will be using clear silicone under mine to seal the holes. I and prob some clear finger nail polish (from my wife) to seal for rust.

Its not to paint the mount its for the holes so they do not rust. Its clear and Dries hard like clear coat. It will get no sunlight so it should be fine. I used it on my Civic I used to have when I cut the fender. Works well. And again its not mine its the Wife's.

Got mine on. Took a little more than I thought. I mounted mine about as low as possible so that added a challenge. Almost thinking about adding 2 up high now. Great quality product. Even nicer than in the pictures.

Note: hold on to the little black caps that go on top of the bolts. Lost one, kicked myself for an hour. Still can't find the litter bugger.

Got mine in today. You could have waited until you had the FSC's done to ship them.
I need to get some foglights.

Decent hardware store for the lost black cap, it's a number 10.
