I would think the force would be away from the glass, the bracket which retains the light is inboard of the pillar......obviously your light would be in jepardy...........if you're that far into a tree, you're heading for problems with or without the pillar bracket.

Mine just arrive and I just found out my drill died (murder mystery maybe?) I got a drill on the way and will post some pics in just a little bit. I'm going to use black make a gasket to seal everything up. If you gotta why not go heavy duty right?

Its not to paint the mount its for the holes so they do not rust. Its clear and Dries hard like clear coat. It will get no sunlight so it should be fine. I used it on my Civic I used to have when I cut the fender. Works well. And again its not mine its the Wife's.

Got mine on. Took a little more than I thought. I mounted mine about as low as possible so that added a challenge. Almost thinking about adding 2 up high now. Great quality product. Even nicer than in the pictures.
Note: hold on to the little black caps that go on top of the bolts. Lost one, kicked myself for an hour. Still can't find the litter bugger.

If you cant locate, pm me & I'll send you a couple.......they can be hard to get........I have a few hundred of them....
